Rules of the Game

The full scoring and competition rules that govern every Gameweek, league, and pick.

  1. 1.Definitions

    1. 1.1Gameweek

A single round of Premier League fixtures. Each Gameweek is assigned a sequential number and a first kickoff time.

    2. 1.2Pick

A single Premier League team selected by a player for a given Gameweek and league.

    3. 1.3Armband

A designation applied to exactly one of a player’s three Picks in a Gameweek, marking it for the bonus point described in Section 3.

    4. 1.4League

A competition in which a player’s Picks are scored and ranked against other players. Triple Pick operates three league types, defined in Section 5.

  2. 2.Making Picks

    1. 2.1Three picks per Gameweek

Each player must select three Premier League teams per Gameweek, per league they are entered into. A team may not be selected more than once in the same set of three Picks.

    2. 2.2Selection window

Picks may be made from the moment a Gameweek opens for selection until the Gameweek’s pick deadline.

    3. 2.3Lock at first kickoff

Once the first fixture of a Gameweek kicks off, all Picks for that Gameweek are locked. No Pick, once locked, may be added, removed, or changed.

    4. 2.4No selection made

A player who has not submitted Picks before the deadline receives zero points for that Gameweek in the affected league. In head-to-head leagues a missed deadline also forfeits that Gameweek’s fixture, and the opponent receives three league points.

    5. 2.5Team usage limit

Each team may be picked at most 3 times per season, counted separately per competition: across all of TP Season, across the whole TP Pro pyramid, and within each Private League. Exhausted teams are greyed out on the pick screen and rejected on submission.

  3. 3.Scoring

    1. 3.1Base points

Points are awarded per Pick according to the full-time result of that team’s fixture:

      Away win — 4 points.

      Home win — 3 points.

      Draw — 1 point.

      Loss — 0 points.

    2. 3.2Armband bonus

If the Pick marked with the Armband wins its fixture (home or away), an additional 1 point is awarded on top of its base points. The Armband bonus is void if the Armbanded Pick draws or loses.

In TP Season, TP Pro, and TP Private, the Armband bonus is also added directly to the player’s head-to-head league points for that Gameweek, regardless of the outcome of the head-to-head fixture itself.

    3. 3.3Gameweek total

A player’s Gameweek score in a league is the sum of the points earned by each of their three Picks in that league, inclusive of any Armband bonus.

  4. 4.Leagues

    1. 4.1Season League

A free, global head-to-head league open to all players. Each Gameweek, a player is fixtured against one opponent, paired Swiss-style to avoid repeat pairings where possible; the player with the higher Gameweek score wins the fixture and is awarded league points, using the same win / draw / loss allocation as TP Pro.

A player is assigned a rest week with no opponent and no points scored or lost when the pool of active players is odd.

    2. 4.2Pro League

A head-to-head pyramid of 10-seat divisions playing 9-Gameweek cycles — a full round-robin, every opponent faced exactly once. The player with the higher Gameweek score wins the fixture and is awarded league points, in line with the standard win / draw / loss allocation.

At the end of each cycle the top 2 in a division are promoted and the bottom 2 relegated, subject to the top and bottom of the pyramid. New subscribers enter through a Newbie Division; a Newbie Division that reaches 10 human players graduates into the pyramid as a cohort.

An unfilled seat in a division is a Qualifier: it mirrors the Gameweek score of a randomly assigned TP Season player, never duplicated within a division and never the score of the seat’s own opponent.

    3. 4.3Private Leagues

Invite-only leagues of 4–20 players, created and administered by a subscriber, joined by invite code. The admin sets the size and how many Gameweeks the league runs.

A league starts when it reaches its configured size, when the admin force-starts it with at least 2 members, or automatically at its first Gameweek deadline with at least 2 members — with fewer, it is cancelled. When the active player count is odd, one player per Gameweek receives a rest week with no points scored or lost.

Scoring is head-to-head, identical to the Pro League: three league points for a win, one for a draw, none for a loss.

  5. 5.Deadlines and Fixture Changes

    1. 5.1Deadline is fixed

The pick deadline for a Gameweek does not extend on account of an individual player’s inaction. It is each player’s responsibility to submit Picks ahead of the deadline.

    2. 5.2Postponed fixtures

If a fixture is postponed after Picks have locked, any Pick assigned to a team in that fixture scores 0 points for the Gameweek, unless and until the fixture is played and results are synced, at which point scoring is applied retroactively.

    3. 5.3Live scoring

Scores displayed while a Gameweek is in progress are provisional and update automatically as fixtures progress. Only full-time results are final.

  6. 6.Standings and Ties

    1. 6.1Ranking

Season League, Pro League, and Private League standings are each ranked by cumulative head-to-head league points, with total accumulated score as the first tiebreaker. Section 4 above sets out any further league-specific tiebreakers.

    2. 6.2Ties

Where two or more players are level on points, they are ranked equally. No secondary tiebreaker is applied unless explicitly stated within a specific league.

  7. 7.Fair Play

    1. 7.1One account per player

Each player may hold only one account. Picks must reflect the player’s own selections.

    2. 7.2Enforcement

Triple Pick reserves the right to void Picks, adjust standings, or remove a player from a league in the event of abuse of these rules.

  8. 8.Changes to These Rules

    1. 8.1Amendments

These rules may be updated between Gameweeks to correct errors or clarify intent. Changes will not be applied retroactively to a Gameweek once its first fixture has kicked off.
